Aloha Danny with special guest Buck Hammock

Danny’s musical journey has taken him through a diverse range of locations and musical styles. He started professionally in 1974 at the Main Outrigger Hotel in Waikiki, performing 60s and 70s covers, Slack Key Guitar and Slide Guitar. He also plays Traditional Hawaiian and Hawaiian Contemporary music while playing his own Folk Rock Funky Jazzy Originals.

His path led him to California, where made a stop in Los Angeles and played at the Improv on Melrose and the Palomino Club in Burbank. Leaving to Santa Cruz he gigged at venues like Positively Front Street, The Catalyst, The Cooper House, Babbling Brook, and more. He then moved to Laguna Beach, where he performed at the Sawdust Festival as a Busker and opened for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, also performing in surrounding towns Dana Pt. and San Clemente at the Quiet Woman, Jolly Roger, Wind & Sea, Barrels. His journey continued to Florida’s Cocoa Beach, where he played at various venues, including The Thirsty Turtle, Beach Shack, Art Festivals, Dive and Beach bars.

Danny eventually returned to the Hawaiian Islands, specifically Maui, in the early 80s. He played at numerous top venues in Lahaina, such as Whales Tale, the Blue Max, Longhis, Blackbeards, Pioneer Hotel, Nimbles. His gigs included whale watching, sunset happy hours, solo acoustic performances. In a unique twist, he joined a Hawaiian Trio on a 7-day cruise, 4 months on 2 months off each rotation around the Hawaiian Islands aboard the SS Independence and the SS Constitution.

Born in Knoxville Tennessee just outside Nashville, Buck Hammock grew up playing a variety of music from Country to R&B/Soul. While performing with local bands in and around Knoxville / Nashville, areas working venues from school dances to local television appearances and bars, he sharpened his skills as a lead guitarist playing a wide variety of music and rubbing elbows with such people as Dolly Parton and other locals.

After moving to Washington State in 1969, and a tour with Uncle Sam in Vietnam, he became one of the members of “The Everyday People”, a popular band playing R&B and Soul. He returned to his country roots along the way and has played for a number of popular groups like The Sundowners, Rim Shot, Latigo Lace, Classic Roads, Buckaroo Blues Band, The Jannie Lane Band Big, The Joe Slick Band and has shared the bill with national acts like Jo Dee Messina, Junior Walker, Sammy Kershaw and Darius Rucker. Buck is the owner of Studio 321 in Stanwood where he lives with is wife Molly on “The Ranch”.
