TRISH HATLEY

Trish is back! Vocalist Trish Hatley is one of the most beloved and enduring figures on the Northwest music scene.

Known for her easy sense of swing, beautiful tone and innate sensitivity to the music, she effectively balances technical mastery with genuine accessibility, making her extremely popular among jazz fans everywhere she performs.

Hatley is also one of the hardest working musicians around. She performs and records with her own band, the Trish Hatley Quintet, as well as the vocal jazz trio Trish, Hans & Phil. She has appeared in several Pops concerts with the Everett Symphony and has also been a frequent guest vocalist with Jim Kerl’s Swing Session Big Band.

Trish has recorded five CD’s to date and has also produced four shows: “A Fifth of Jazz,” “Women in Song”, “Isn’t It Romantic” and “The Great American Songbook.” Her latest CDs, “I Remember” was released in January 2010, and released in March 2010, “Sing, Ask and It Is Given,” a collection of affirmations set to original jazz melodies that she composed.

Trish performs regularly at festivals, nightspots and concerts throughout the Northwest. Showtime for Trish's Rockfish performance is 6PM.

"When I think of Trish, the first word that comes to mind is dazzling. Her ability to captivate the audience while inspiring the musicians has made Trish one of our most requested soloists."
—Dr. Paul Cobb, Conductor, Everett Symphony

"This slim brunette does it all with a style and energy suffused with a self effacing wit and possesses a soulful soprano voice!"
—Nancy Wollbeck, Anacortes American

JESSE TAYLOR

JESSE TAYLOR

Jesse Taylor is a true American original. An authentic rodeo cowboy, Jesse’s passion for singing and songwriting has taken him to dive bars and honky-tonks throughout much of the West.

His poetic lyrics and haunting melodies capture the flavor of rodeo life with a soulful authenticity. His songs speak powerfully of the American West, of its timeless values and virtues. And they do so in ways that remind us all of the ups and downs in our own lives.

Jesse was born and raised in Arlington WA. With his Mom named after a Johnny Cash song and his Dad a team roper and songwriter, Jesse grew up with rodeo -- and music -- in his blood. He began roping at age 3, was given his first guitar at age 4 and rode his first bull at 14. He began writing songs at 16 and two years later went on the road in his pick-up truck with his dog, Sandy.

Jesse spent the past 2 years working on the Hawaiian island of Lana’i. During the day, he led trail rides for resort guests and tended the horses. At night, he’d entertain guests with his singing at The Four Seasons Lodge at Ko’ele. He counts Chris LeDoux, George Strait, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Frank Sinatra and Jimi Hendrix among his music influences.

Jesse recently recorded his first studio album, Out Here In The Country, at Blackbird Studio in Nashville. Through hard work and lean living, Jesse Taylor is living his dream.

STILLY RIVER BAND

Performing together for decades, the Stilly River Band delivers an exciting range of music, from bluegrass to progressive folk, Latin, Irish, rock and rhythm 'n blues. Their bluegrass arrangement of Sam & Dave's soul classic, Hold On, I'm Comin' will put a smile on your face for the rest of the day.

Known by some as “the bad boys of bluegrass”, the Stillys play and eclectic mix of music from traditional bluegrass to other less conventional styles played in a bluegrass format that the band labels “rude grass.”

The band features John Amber-Oliver on lead vocals and guitar, Jonathon Schneider on tenor harmonies and banjo, Stuart Torgeson on dobro and accordion, John Daugherty on vocals and stand up bass, Steve Stolpe on vocals and mandolin and Mike Schway on fiddle.

The Stilly River Band delivers accomplished musicianship, excellent vocal harmony and an always entertaining and unpredictable show. Looking for a cross between Earl Scruggs and the Tempations? These are your guys!

NICK VIGARINO (SOLO)
Friday, June 16, 2017

NICK VIGARINO (SOLO)

“Many a bluesman paid backbreaking dues chopping cotton in the flat Delta fields of Mississippi and Arkansas. There was no cotton crop to tend to in the grimy rust belt town of Youngstown, Ohio in the 1960’s, but there was grinding, dirty work for some, as human grist in the mills of U.S. and Republic Steels. It was this dismal blue-collar legacy that Nick Vigarino was born to.

Vigarino had his way out of this existence before he even knew it. Nick fell into possession of a battered guitar, feebly equipped with one string. As fate would have it, he learned to play the guitar in the exact same way as a hundred seminal blues musicians had two generations before him, on a homemade one-string diddley bo. With a poet’s fierce commitment to birthing his own music, he continued to play on ever-improving instruments the angry and mournful melodies in his head, carrying his music into the bars and roadhouses of Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.

Impressed with the Northwest’s clean air and unspoiled mountain vistas, Nick drifted to Seattle, where he quickly won respect for his refreshingly original songs. Encouraged by the interest in his cutting-edge approach to the blues, he formed Meantown Blues. Now, thankfully, there is an audience for Nick’s clearheaded music as he finds himself rushing back and forth across the Northwest and beyond, serving up solo and ensemble music on the stages of bar rooms, concert halls, festivals, and regional television.” - Ray Varner - (Blues Historian, Ethno-musicologist, critic, and writer for Living Blues Magazine, Jefferson - Sweden, and Caledonia).

Vigarino has released three recordings of original material, several collaborations, has performed in 11 countries on 7 different European tours, and has garnered numerous music awards.

3-ISH

Anacortes original artists Three-ish started by playing with friends at a local open mic. Sometimes there's three, sometimes there's only two and often instruments are rotated. With the "ish" there's always room to grow. Bailey the awesome Aussie loves to howl along during practice sessions. Music includes originals and covers, which are conceptualized into their own style. Three-ish incorporates guitars, 3 part vocal harmonies, violin, and rhythm into their folk-indie sound that they’ve shared across Skagit County.
