Idaho singer/songwriter Mark Holt weaves bluegrass, Americana, folk and other acoustic sounds into his music, but at his core, he's a cowboy music revivalist.
Raised on Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., and outlaw country, Mark grew up with an open mind when it came to music. It's the reason his recent album includes covers of both Marty Robbins' "El Paso City" and Gregg Allman's "Midnight Rider" along with a medley of Frank Sinatra hits.
The genre-bending "Acoustically Native" was produced by Alison Krauss associate Bil VornDick. Word of mouth excitement around the album landed Mark a feature in American Cowboy, the popular Western lifestyle magazine.
